About me

An Information Science graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh in the general track that enjoys challenges that captivates and invigorate's my brain to apply my techno-interpersonal skills.

Albert Einstein once aptly stated, “Education is what remains after one has forgotten what one has learned in school.”This maxim struck a chord with me ever since the introduction of programming in my young schooling days. After having witnessed the boom of technologies like the Cloud, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Internet of Things and Blockchain alongside my mother being a doctorate, it naturally helped me develop the inquisitiveness to delve deeper into this sophisticated world of Computer Science. Pursuing my programming interests in high school enabled me to implement a Healthcare System utilizing SQL, JSPs and Servlets with courses in Calculus, Statistics, and C++ language. Hence my unparalleled fascination with computer-technology led me to have a background in Computer Science Engineering at CMR Institute of Technology for my undergraduate program in which I was amongst the Top 10 percentile of my class.

During my initial years of my undergraduate program, attending workshops on Data Science and Neural Networks, Big Data and carrying out several projects on IoT such as Building a Quadcopter and a Bluetooth- controlled Robot using an Atmeg MC allowed me to explore my interests and stay abreast with the latest technologies. In my sixth semester, I undertook a mini-project which involved conducting Sentiment Analysis on iPhone 6s Product Reviews. Though the mini-project gave me a head start towards Data Analysis and Machine Learning, it was the IoT project on Dynamic Context Building for ROOF (IEEE P1931.1) that bolstered my research skills in understanding and enabled me to implement the project using both Raspberry Pi 3 and eventually develop a full-stack application.

To boost my practical experience, I interned at Tangent TechnoLabs in the eighth semester. At the company, I worked on the backend schema, RESTFul services, and wireframe design for the Web Config Utility for their ZigBee IoT Gateway solution. While this experience uncovered the industrial application of IoT, it also highlighted me the use of AI concepts could potentially make an efficient and secure IoT solution. Gradually, these experiences inspirited me to pursue a career in AI. Post my undergraduate; I joined Ellucian Higher Education Ltd - a company that provides software solutions for Higher Education as an Associate Software Developer where I worked on code fixes and enhancements for various modules of the Banner Student Product. Also, I carried out a prototype – a Library Management System using Face Recognition and IoT that eliminates the use of ID cards in a Library. This augmented my knowledge on Deep Learning.

I am a quick-learner, self-movitated and aspire to be industry researcher that would like to solve real-world problems for social and environmental causes.
